We work closely with communities to foster a culture of health and well-being. CHEPMAD facilitates community gardens, nutrition programs, and fitness initiatives, promoting healthy living and fostering social connections among community members.
Bringing Preventative Care to Older Adults Project
Bringing Preventative Care to Older Adults Project is part of Hope to Live Charity Organization’s larger CHEPMAD program. This is a USAID-DIV funded project that focuses on the unique healthcare needs of elders and will test novel approaches for delivering educational programs to aging populations at scale.
The primary goal of this initiative is to improve preventative healthcare access, knowledge, and healthcare outcomes among elders in Kenya. To achieve this objective, the project aims to provide healthcare education to approximately 1,000 elders across 7 targeted locations. By empowering these elders to advocate for their own healthcare needs, the organization hopes to drive positive behavioral changes and improved health outcomes within the community.
To evaluate the program’s impact, the team will measure engagement levels, trust in the healthcare system, changes in health behaviors, and the knowledge gained by participants. This data-driven approach will help the organization determine the most effective program delivery models, informing future scale-up efforts to reach a wider population of vulnerable elders in need of critical preventative care services.
At Hope to Live, we are driven by a shared vision of creating a society where senior citizens thrive, have access to quality healthcare, lifelong learning opportunities, and a dignified livelihood. Join us in our mission to empower senior citizens and build healthier, more vibrant communities.
