About us

Empowering Older Persons to Live Healthy, Dignified Lives in Kenya

Hope to Live is dedicated to improving the quality of life of vulnerable older persons and elderly-led households across Kenya.

Through community-driven programs, we work to expand access to healthcare, promote healthy aging, and strengthen livelihoods for older persons who often face poverty, social isolation, and limited support systems.

Our approach focuses on restoring dignity, independence, and hope, ensuring that older members of our communities are valued, supported, and able to live meaningful lives.

How we work

Community-Based Healthcare

We improve access to essential healthcare services for older persons who often face barriers to treatment, information, and preventive care. Through community outreach, health education, and partnerships with local health providers, we promote early disease detection, healthy lifestyles, and better management of chronic conditions common among older populations.

Livelihood and Economic Empowerment

Many elderly-led households struggle with poverty and limited income opportunities. We support older persons with practical livelihood initiatives that help them build sustainable sources of income and improve household stability. Through training, small economic activities, and community support systems, we enable older persons to remain productive and financially independent while reducing vulnerability within their households.

Community Education and Advocacy

We work closely with communities to raise awareness about the rights, needs, and contributions of older persons. Through education campaigns, community dialogues, and local partnerships, we challenge stigma and promote respect, inclusion, and protection for older people. Our advocacy efforts also aim to influence policies and community practices so that older persons can live with dignity, safety, and equal opportunities.

Strengthening Community Support Systems

Strong communities are essential for the wellbeing of older persons. We help build networks of support by engaging families, community volunteers, local leaders, and organizations to work together in supporting vulnerable elderly households. By strengthening these support systems, we create environments where older persons are cared for, valued, and included in community life.
