Why volunteer?
We work to help a lot of vulnerable individuals in the community. With limited resources and personnel, our wish will not be accomplished. That is why we need you. Volunteering will help us reach more vulnerable individuals, ease our mapping of areas of operations as well as make you meet new people and develop your skills in the nonprofit world. We will accomplish our mission successfully through you as a volunteer, and we would appreciate your time and skills you have donated to help the people in need. In most cases, we would tend to employ qualified personnel from the volunteers.
Questions you might have before volunteering
Q. Will my volunteering affect my commitments?
A. No. If you offer to volunteer while you have a paid job, school work or nay other commitment, you might need to reconsider your timing. Talk to our team to help you align your activities with ours.
Q. What will I gain from volunteer work?
A. Volunteering for a good cause will increase your social skills, improve your self esteem and helps you meet new friends as it teaches you new skills. Also, we consider hiring volunteers as paid employees over time. Having a volunteering experience on your CV enhances and shows how much your concern for society is.
Q. How long will I volunteer?
A. Most volunteering periods runs from 2 weeks to at least 6 months depending on the project need.
Q. What skills do you require of me?
A. Skills vary depending on the project, location or needs at the moment. Generally, having skills in mobilizing support, health care, climate change, policy issues and caregiving will be of an added advantage to our mission
Q. What are my interests?
A. Your volunteering position may be affiliated to your field of study of a particular mission or cause. Before volunteering, you will need to consider what your interest are to narrow down your options
Q. Can I be absorbed as part of paid employees if I volunteer?
A. Yes you can. Absorbing a volunteer as an employee will be of an advantage to us, as it will minimize the costs of hiring and training a particular personnel, over an issue that a volunteer already had a first hand experience on.
